So an update to my last blog post on the issue:
I have finally switched over to InteliJ IDEA and I'm really happy with it.
What finally made me switch was the fact that IDEA can easily work with Maven projects written for Actionscript while FlexBuilder can not. And the reason I needed to work with Maven projects, was because I needed to work with TeamCity for automated builds.
After being forced to switch, it turned out that the switch was very easy. I expected it to take me a week to get used to the new IDE, but in fact it only took me about 4 - 5 days. (I guess for some that is still considered a week, isn't it? )
I'm really happy with it. It's not the perfect IDE, it still has some issues of convenience. Like being very picky about properly defining the SDK being used for each module in a project. And while it works perfectly with maven, it doesn't yet work perfectly when you try to run Unit Tests through the IDE using the settings in Maven. But I am sure as the community usage of the IDE grows, these minor issues will be worked out. It certainly blows Flashbuilder out of the water though, in just about every way. This is especially true, since now Flash Builder doesn't even support design mode anymore. Oh Adobe, why have you forsaken us? And Greetings JetBrains, our new saviors!

This is a description of my blog. Not very inspired and doesn't say a thing about Flash.

Save This space:
My Journey on getting Mockolate, FlexUnit, and the Flex SDK to work with Maven in InteliJ IDEA.
Remind me to write my very long post about error messages, problems, and solutions to using Maven and Actionscript 3.
If you really want me to write the post faster, leave a comment so I feel like I'm not talking in the wind. Thanks :)

Finally some tools to go from FlashBuilder to InteliJ IDEA
For quite a while now I've wanted to get into IntelliJ IDEA IDE. There are a couple of reasons for this.
I have tried downloading the IDE twice and both times had a hard time with it. I felt that Eclipse was one culture I've gotten used to since 1999, and IntelliJ was just a whole new way of thinking that would require a tutor for me to understand. To be honest, I've been very embarrassed about this last bit and I never quite knew how to ask anyone to help me, or even who to ask.- I find Eclipse to be a bit annoying every now and then.
- It seemed to me that IntelliJ IDEA really is an amazing IDE and everyone tells me so. (Even though I think it has a nasty Java UI)

Copy and Paste.. WTF? Or Why the future isn't here yet
package inspired.flash.rant
{
I just really need to rant, this happens way to often for my tastes.
I don't know what the culprit is, but there is something fishy going on. Every now and then (usually when I have the most work to do, and am really pressed for time.) The "copy and paste" functionality on my computer doesn't work.

On the reasons why TV news is becoming irrelevant and should soon change*
package inspired.flash.news.media

A few days ago Osama bin Laden was killed. As I mentioned in other posts, my access to news right now is fairly limited. (this is on purpose) I was really curious about this whole dead Osama thing, and so I watched the news on T.V, for what I thought would be a couple hours to catch up on what is going on around the world. reactions, theories, facts etc.
I quickly realized two things...

Fun with Encryption
package inspired.flash.air.security

A friend of mine was working on a CD he wanted to make, with a bunch of different swf presentations. He wanted to know if its possible to make the various swfs only load up through a single .exe file, and to prevent people from opening up those swfs outside of his main presentation.

Halachic Time App

So on my way to the train station today while driving through some beutiful rain and not being able to tell if it was night time, or day time, I got this quick inspiration to create an app which tells me what the current "halachic time" is.
